Try putting sand paper on the keys on your keyboard, I've heard of some people doing that.

One of the climbing companies used to distribute what you're looking for, but I haven't seen one in about 15 years. In fact, I used to have a blue one. They did not really work as well as just getting out there and climbing more.

Here's a similar product that I found with a quick Google search.

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/...s-Builder?sku=423500

This and the original item you asked about are made for guitarists, so maybe look around more on music sites and forums?

I have one, about the diameter of a fity-cent piece. With regular use, it builds great calluses. But you can't touch it.

I have light calluses on my fingertips, but get the most protection from the calluses on my palms at the bend of my fingers. I can't speak for everyone, but for a rock climber I don't think I'd spend my time trying to build calluses on my finger tips so a callus builder sounds kind of gimmicky to me and I can't imagine many climber's using them. Secondarily my calluses are a matter of pride and manliness so I wouldn't cheat with a callus builder. So I'll give you your version ... play more dude or buy a guitar with lower action. Just as matter of spec I have to say and don't get bent about it STFU NooB!

Wait?

He's posting this because he wants to build callus for guitar?!?

The best way to do that:

Play guitar.

Seriously. I can't believe I'm posting this here. Wow. Here's an exercise:

On the high E, pull off and hammer on with one finger until it become so painful you think the finger will fall off. Go to the next finger and do the same. Repeat until your hand is burning and you're good and sure you'll never be able to move it again.

Do that every other day. Mix in a healthy helping of running up and down the neck with scales.

If I'm just confused and you want to do something for climbing: climb in a cheap gym on rough holds :) Do lots of silly moves without your feet.

Got to love a troll that is so off topic it is even on the wrong site.

Anyway, I do both activites, play guitar and rock climb. Even if I take enough time off to lose all calluses they normally return in a week, either activity.

For climbing, there is this place I know were there is this great callus builder. They have this plywood there with these multi-colored plastic things on it. All I have to do is play on them.

For guitar, there is this object sitting on my bed, it is made of wood as well, but has six little strings going from one end to the other. If I want to get some calluses, all I have to do is play with it as well.

For the rest of my hands, there is this hole in the bottom of my pocket that when I am at work and I think no one is watching I ........... well there is playing envolved too.

Dean Markley (did I spell that right?) bronze acoustic strings. They're like a damn file. You'll have callouses over night. Sound fantastic though.

How the hell did you end up here if you dont climb? Honestly...WTF?Crazy
