Turtle Rock in JT: Probably climbing there this weekend - Vogel says that the walk-off is a little obscure. Normally I would not be concerned, but I think it's the only time he's actually mentioned walk-off difficulty. Can anyone describe the way down? Thanks!

If you have to ask, you're gonna have to learn. There are 2 walk offs... so to speak. Just remember, keep your rope and gear with you till you are sure of the descent. A stranded climber is a dead climber. At worst case, just leave gear behind and come back for it. Is your life worth a couple of $50 cams??? Robert

"Oh yeah, that's a walk off challenge my friend" "That's it!: it's a walk-off!" (damn, I love Zoolander...)

"It's a Walk Off" - 5.10b, 2 bolt face to hand crack, natural anchor, walk off back. Left of "Really, Really Ridiculously Good Looking" and "Eugoogooly". Tell you where it is sometime after we tell the guidebook author...

Actually, the new guide has beta for every descent off every formation, including tricky and technical ones. As the guide says, it is off the western end of the formation (several possibilities exist). But, if you are uncertain, best to scope it ahead of time (take 5 minutes to head over to the west side of the rock and figure out the best way down.
