The Helium, Shield and Bionic carabiners all require a unique operation that uses a custom forging press to apply a side punch to create the nose cavity. Dear Tansofun, as has been explained by Simon Marsh of DMM there have been production problems at DMM with the Helium. Attached is a reply to an e-mail about the situation sent by 'vegastradguy' from Wild Country's Sales Director: "The bottom line is that Helium's are just very difficult to make! The back is a relatively straightforward forging but the shrouded nose is on the edge of hot forging technology. We have a lot of downtime with this tooling, this coupled with only one forge capable of carrying out the operation and a huge order book ensures supply, is at the moment, unable to meet demand. Increased experience coupled with a new forge coming on line in the spring of 08 will ensure we gradually get on top of our order book. Despite the shortages the unique advantages of the Helium, wire gate, low weight, high strength, large internal geometry and patented clean no-snag nose have kept climbers clamouring for the product. We will push hard to clear the back orders and get into and ex-stock situation as soon as we possibly can. In the meantime we can only ask our retailers and climbers to be as patient as possible. Very best regards, Steve Foster, Wild Country Sales Director." I would just like to add to this our sincerest apologies to all climbers who want this fantastic biner and say there is no-one more frustrated than Wild Country with this situation. The reputation and reviews for this biners have been second to none and not to be able to deliver it is very hard. If anyone wants to read more about this biner including reviews from Climbing (Editors Choice) and Rock and Ice giving it a hearty endorsement then click the link below... http://www.wildcountry.co.uk/Products/Karabiners/Helium/ thanks Richie Patterson Wild Country Marketing

My favorite biner too. Love the DMM Sentinal HMS locker. BTW, if you could make a design like the Trango Superfly, except larger on the small end, you'd have a big time winner.

thanks they did have quickdraws made with heliums, but they didn't have any heliums loose that I could find. Let me know if I missed them for some reason.

It would be nice if the WC Heliums or the DMM Shields were color coded. (like the Neutrino & Spectre)

Mountain Gear is very reputable. Saw elsewhere a 5 pack for $54.50. They're the hot Ferrari Red anodized ones you want!
