Hey there fellow climbers! I am planning a trip to the string of mountains that US HWY 285 follows North starting at the bottom and working up towards Leadville. I am scouting for partners and interest if anyone can make it I hope to do twelve in one month. I will be leaving mid January and ending the trip Mid February.
Feel free to contact me directly or reply to these posts.
Also any winter specific beta for any of these moutains would be great.
Chris

I know the area fairly well, I'd like to go and I would but your going a month too late for me. I can give some info on the peaks you want to do, plus good places to stop and eat. Let me know, Eric

Are you planning on just climbing these or are you going to ski/board down them?

Fearless that sucks that its too late for ya to go. I will definitely be in touch with you as far as the good food and beta goes. Also I will be dirtbaggin in a big way so if you know of any hostels that are climber friendly that would be excellent.
Killz I hadn't contemplated skiing/boarding down, but it is something to consider. R U interested?

Well the only way you are going to get me on top of a 14er in the middle of January-Early Feb is if I can take the express elevator down. I haven't picked off Democrat yet on my splitboard so I would be down, if conditions permit and schedules work out. The avy hazard out here is not joke, but I think there are fairly safe routes on Democrat both up and down.

HAHA! I love it. As far as I can tell though Democrat is currently closed because of access issues. Thats the latest I got anyways, but I am down with taking the express lane down.

Democrat has always been closed, yet it has always been open. It's not really an issue.

Cool well then its in. I just hate to be the guy that all the other climber's hate because of access reasons. I am going to throw together a schedule of events and start planning a little more.
I will post more as I get more together.
