March/April Climbing Trip to Cali advice

I was looking for any recommendations for climbing areas that would be good temps around the end of march. I am planning a trip out west to either California or somewhere close and was wondering if anyone had good ideas for areas to sport climb and boulder and camp. Thanks in advance for your help!

Closer to an airport would be a plus, but any advice is welcome.

hows about red rocks nevada! I went to yosemite last time out... but I think it would still have some snow in yosemite in march/april...or you could go late season iceclimbing here... in n.h.

the only problem with going to red rocks at the end of march is that the red rock rendezvous may be going on during the dates you want to climb(read serious crowding issues). all the better routes with shorter approaches and all the classics will have lines. go to joshua tree. perfect sending temps, endless lines on great granite, ect. i personally think that is the perfect time to be in socal. thats generally when i go myself.

I went to Jtree a couple years ago in March and the temps were perfect. It gets a little chilly at night, but not too bad.

I'm looking to do a very similar trip. I was looking at starting at the Lake Tahoe area and working my way down to Josh Tree. I looked at the route guide and got a pretty good idea of areas, but not for temp, like the thread poster. I would be interested in moderate sport routes of classic/near-classic quality.

Sorry if I hijacked this tread, it just looks like we are after similar things.

Jtree would be Great that time of year. While it is not known as a sport area, there are a lot of bolted face climbs. But they would likely need gear for building belay anchors. If you're not wanting to bring gear, try hooking up with someone local.
I have not been to New Jack City, but it is known as as a sport destination. It would also be nice in March. See CA/High Desert.
There is also the malibu/echo cliffs areas in Los Angeles, weather is good, if its not raining. Riverside Rock Quarry is pure hard sport. Late april is a better choice. Neither of these two offer much in terms of camping, but are closer to airports.
In San Diego look into El Cajon.
