Yup - that's right, Lynne Spears' parenting book has been put on indefinite hold.
In reply to: On the heels of the announcement that Britney Spears' 16-year-old sister, Jamie Lynn, is pregnant with her first child comes word that the parenting book due for release in the spring from the girls' mom, Lynne Spears, has been delayed. Britney Spears'. Mom. Was writing. A fricking parenting book!

Now THAT redefines irony. Possible book titles... "The trailer park and your drinking habits -- the two pillars of good parenting skills." "How to raise yer child on Dukes of Hazard re-runs and pornos." Your turn.

Or we could call her book Here's how to raise your kids if you want them to be white trash no talent celebrities...or something like that.

Funny - the book probably would have sold MANY more copies, just based on the irony of the thing, than a comparable book by another author. Guess she wasn't in it for the money..... I don't really follow news, but I wonder if this isn't just a National Enquirer-type media wank. A group of news hound office drones sitting around brainstorming ideas when the baby arrival comes over the wire, and they're like "well....how can we spin this to get better headlines? I know, let (and thus th ebook idea is launched). It's getting so bad that I think it's foolish to believe anything we are getting from mainstream media sources these days. Can anyone substantiate the lady was actually in the process of doing such a book?

Maybe she could get together with Lindsay Lohan's mom and the Hilton's and do a series.

Or....this could be the most brilliant marketing scheme yet... Momma Spears writes the book, Kiddie Spears gets knocked up. Rather than pull the book in panic, they release this press release stating an "indefinate hold" - nothing absolute about that. Wait five months. Release the book. People's interest's are piqued to a max, since they want to get the inside scoop on the parenting skills of a mother who's kid is a jackrabbit. Sales go through the roof. Right around this time, the kiddo is 8 months pregnant. One month later, she gives birth, again highlighting the book. Sales rebuild the roof, and break through it again. Take it one step further: Momma Spears commissioned her daughter to get pregnant to create a million-dollar book scheme. Never planning to keep the child, kiddo spears gives it up for adoption, highlighting the alternatives to abortion and placing the family back in the "American Family" spotlight. Brilliant.

Lynne Spears' daughter is a multi-millionaire musician who's travelled the world and is adored by millions. Your mom's son spends his time whining on the web about how someone he's never met was writing a book. Funny how they didn't ask your mother, huh?

Oh, jee.... How did this thread ever get off topic? Until further proclamation, the BET boys shall be referred to as "The B Team."

I suppose it might look that way but no Ma, you did, with your comment of "I get my news from rc.com" You could have gone for a double point score by changing my username to "crappiegrrrl" (as you said you preferred, in the B Team thread), but missed th echance. Not to worry, you may write crappiegrrrl or any other version of my username you prefer. Will I be getting tarpitted for this too? Has anyone yet fessed up to putting me in the tarpit the other day? The one where, supposedly, there was no indication as to who did it, what the time frame was, or what the offense was?

By the way, I apologize to the thread OP and those interested in the topic, for the bullshit. I'll do my best to stay away from this sort of thing in the future, but it really makes me mad to have people calling me the things that those people have done in the last week. I used to have the Sig line of "I get my news for rc.com," and maybe it's just a coincidence that Ma made that remark....but considering she wrote in the B Team thread that she preferred "crappiegrrrl" as a make-fun name for me, I don't think most people would blame me for assuming it was a jab, and responding.

Us normal folk think ALL OF YOU are whacked. But disaffected, formerly insider rc.comer's are the worst, the most whackedofall. Some of them like to pretend they don't even remember (haha, Alberto Gonzales where in the world are ya????) WHY they were WHACKED. THE WORST I TELL YA. Why they whine 3-forums over, believe it or not, about the wrongs perpetrated against them here. It will lead to Forum War if you all don't stop it. At least one climbing forum owner owns a doomesday machine and she's too paranoid to tell anyone... CONSIDER the implications of an unknown doomesday machine before you go off half-cocked. THE WORST.... I'm tellin ya! Cheers DMT
