Anyone with experience starting a non-profit entity? Some of our accountants or tax lawyer folks, perhaps? Shoot me a PM, if you would. I have an idea, and I'm looking for answers to questions that bother me so. Thanks.

Don't want to rain on your parade, but the first thing you should do when considering starting a non-profit is to see if there's an existing non-profit that does the same or substantially the same thing you want to do. I have set up a few. I always ask clients that question, because there are a zillion non profits out there, and many of them do duplicate work, which is inefficient and drains the pool of charitable giving. Just something to think about. If it's a new idea, full steam ahead!

OK, next time you interrupt a Jimmy Buffett lyric fest with some crap from Journey, I'm going to thump you over your mullet with an 8-track tape.

What can I say, I'm an 80s child. Disclaimer: Journey sucks, too. If you don't mind my asking, what are you thinking of doing for a NP, or is it hush hush?

I'm another me too (lawyer -- I've done corporate formations and 501(c)(3) applications). You sound like you're well-covered, but just in case you need another pair of eyes... and yes, i can follow directions and will PM also. ;)
