I am sure that this topic has been discussed, but I was unable to find anything in a search.

Who do you think is pushing the ice and mixed climbing envelope these days?

Will Gadd?
Stevie Haston?
Bubu?
Someone else?

Steve House

(and Dean Potter)

not in terms of technical difficulty but in terms of style, which is what really matters.

Alex Lowe was amazing before his passing. RIP Jeff Lowe is really good. I didn't know that Dean Potter climbed ice.

Dean Potter does do alpine ice, and very well. This year in Patagonia he soloed Cerro Torre's Compressor Route (5.10, A1) as well as Fitzroy's Super Couloir (VI 5.10 WI 3+), and he put up a new line (again solo) on Fitzroy called Californian Roulette (VI 5.10+ WI 5).

Crazy!

Jean Christophe Lafaille is always up there too. The guy pulls down on ice, mixed, rock, high altitude. So other than he's French, he's pretty cool....

For technical mixed/ ice. I think it's Will Gadd. Not that silly contrived comp stuff, routes on real rock, oh and with a smidge of ice here and there.
