Does the white part have tubes in it. From the detail available in the (tiny) pics it looks like a very old tie in belt. You tied the belt on with the tapes, then slotted one end of the rope through on tube, pulled some slack through and then threaded the rope back through another tube. then you tied into the rope using the twin end/live rope and the double loop at the other side. At the end of the 60's both karrimor and edelrid made something similar to this. The were better than tying the rope round your waist, but I soon switched to a troll willans harness after a couple of small lead falls. Have you any idea of its age, that might help.

I'll have to check, as I don't have it with me. I scored this along with a maroon sling from THE GREAT PACIFIC IRON WORKS, It would be from the 60's -my guess. I can't be sure if the red tube webbing has been cut short or originally this length.

It's the bottom strap for a sex swing. [URL=http://img119.imageshack.us/my.php?image=swingta5.jpg]

It may have been a prototype for a waist belt, with an attempt to avoid copyright/patent problems with the other manufacturers. A replacement for the swami belt made of a length of webbing teid round the waist. Good luck with the research.

Likely a spinn off of the Swami Belt, but pre general use of a waist belt with buckle.

I won it VICTOROUSLY! on ebay. I asked the dude about it and he told me that it came from an estate sale & knew nothing. It is well made, solid, heavy stiching but has no markings.

Not enough tail to tie the sling ends together. It looks to have been a piece of something larger if I had to guess. Hope you figure it out.

Mystery solved, Looks like "Jestering" has it nailed! After looking at it again the runners have been cut. Looks to be - as mentioned something of a swami belt. Thanks for all the help with this one.
