Anyone know of any cabin rentals or B&Bs convenient to climbing at the Obed?
My prelim web search isn't turning up much...

how close to you want to be? Within 15 minutes? If so you are likely to be out of luck. I will say that camping at Dell and Martys is about as nice as camping gets but I understand that if you don't want to camp you simply don't want to camp. I tried to find something for you and this is what I came up with....
About 20 minutes north of obed= http://www.bbonline.com/tn/rugby.html
about 20 minutes south= http://www.bushrodhall.com/
I would either camp at D&Ms or stay at some hotel in Oak Ridge........ Do yourself a favor and stay in knoxville one night and eat at the tomato head and have a beer at the downtown brewery. I miss knoxville if you can't tell....
THe obed is one of hte prettiest places I have ever been. Enjoy.

Thanks! Is Dell and Marys open to camping again? I remember hearing they closed it down a while back. I stayed there a few years ago...it was cool.

they are open with updated rules/things that should be common sense. pay is $5 per person per night. Its amazing that with all the bullshat cabin rentals that have ruined the smokies there are not a few more isolated deals up that way. I bet there are several folks that would rather rent a nice cabin near the much more chill Obed than near the smokies.......
anyway have fun. Are you going to be there this weekend?

D&M's should be open i was there a week or so ago. make friends with the dogs while your there, it shouldnt be that hard.
