In the next few months I will be taking a month long cruise on a sub and was wondering if anbody had any tips on sustaining the finger/tendon strength that I have built up over the past few months with limited space, obviously.

I don't know if there will be sufficient room for a hangboard. Thanks

Aren't there are always pipes and shit running all over the place overhead? You could just move from place to place monkey bar style. You know, just campus up the ladder to the hatch when you have to let in Alec Baldwin. Or, just alternate fingers when sending messages in Morse code at the periscope. That really ought to do it.

Get a TRX Trainer system with the Talon accessory. Brutal workouts in a tiny package.

An oldy but goody is, get one or 2 foot piece of 1" or bigger dowel, or the round wood stock used for handrails. Drill a hole through the dowel or rail (if the dowel or rod is a bit on the fat side, it's healthier for your tendons), and tie a piece of cord through it. Tie the end of the cord to a weight, and, with your forearms resting on something, hold the dowel in your hands, and wind up the cord by twisting the dowel. Very good for hand strength.

As in all workouts, give yourself rest and recovery time between workouts, and don't try to build it up too fast. More reps with a lighter load will strengthen your tendons about as fast as possible with less chance of injury than if you try to see how much weight you can handle.
