I recently messed my knee up and now I can't climb for about 6 weeks. Are there any exercises I can do which do not involve using legs to keep in good climbing condition while I can not climb?

kinda depends on the level that you climb at... you can do hangboard workouts, campus board workouts, frenchies, pull-ups, un-even grip pull-ups, one-arm pull-ups, lock-offs, hanging leg raises, hanging pikes, front levers, crunches, leg lifts, tricep dips, forearm pronators...

You can always rope up and climb 1 footed. There are plenty of drills that you can do while your knee is messed up. Get a copy of the self coached climber and do all of the drills with one foot. Concentrate on your good leg and your upper body. No reason to give up climbing...

Try this exercise routine out. If a guy with no leg can do it, you should be able to as well.

I have three different climbing partners who climbed during leg injury rehab -- very carefully, and with the right equipment (I've climbed one-armed during elbow rehab). Sounds crazy, looks crazy, but we're ... well ... maybe a little crazy. Use your own best judgment, but my sister climbed in her metal frame brace when recovering from knee surgery; my hubby climbed in braces; another climbing partner literally hopped her way up routes on one foot when rehabbing an ankle injury. Your time is probably best spent on upper body and core conditioning, but a little bit of funny-looking-climbing can keep the brain a little bit happier!
