I recently acquired a set of these. I have no idea who makes them, and can't seem to find them anywhere on the net. Flexible single stem similar to the Black Diamonds. The heads resemble Rock Empires. Super light weight. Same color blue slings sewn on all of them. The only writing or mark of any kind is the word "Climb" on the handles. No stamps. No KN rating. No manufacturer mark. So.... my theories 1.) Space-aged Uzbekistani ultra light-weight super cams??? 2.) Chinese exploding pot-metal death-cams? 3.) Other Any other theories?? Safe to use- yes/no?? The pics:

They look like Rock Empire Comets, sort of. Differences: The lobes are anodized. The sheath on the cable isn't clear. The sling is nylon. The markings and shape of the trigger.

The design looks very similar to the Camp Air Cam, but the materials look a bit cheaper. Perhaps a knock-off?

The nylon certainly dates them a bit. They look remarkably like the Air Cam. The place where the webbing is attached and the trigger are slightly different though.

Could they be from Climb Axe? They seem to have all sort of Camp-like "climb axe" brand gear.

The heads look identical to the head on a forged stem cam branded as "acme climbing" (or maybe "climb axe"?) and taged with a goat they used to sell at pagan in moab. These probably come from eh same eastern european factory as rock empire and other poor quality cams... I've got the purple one ... cheep shit that seems to work ok, not alot of range. i'd avoid using them unless you need multiple cams for sandstone in which case its better than nothing. Go stick them in a crack and bounce test/funkness them before you fall on em. They'll probably hold falls in ideal placements but nicer cams (ones with more range, better placed trigger wires, quality control and designs that have been refined after years of use all over the world) will place and clean with less futzing around and leave you with less fear in the bottom of your stomach. Like most off brand cams, they work but they probably suck. And by suck I mean poor range and lousy trigger action. But I'd fall on them.

I got a set of 9 of these as a gift. Not sure where they came from originally. I'll probably just stick to my Black Diamonds for lead climbing for now and relegate these to the TR rack. It might be fun to send one in to get destroyed in a pull test- purely in the name of science.

I've seen them before, I just can't remember where. Almost certainly some variation of climb-axe I think. They'll hold 12-14kn just like any other cam if you break them. More importantly though, breaking things is fun. I keep PMing adatesman with ideas to break stuff and he's already ahead of me. One day I'll come up with something really cool to break.

my guess is the "climb" on the trigger is short for "for your safety, these cams will sustain any force that can be generated by a fall while on a *climb*." or maybe something more simple like "it is fun to *climb*." or maybe it's code for something..
