He's going backwards. Its kinda like that posed photo of Sonnie Trotter on the Monument. It is assumed it is posed 'cause there's really no way to climb it facing the direction he's in.

I wish I could find that photo of Sonnie....maybe someone else can cough it up.
Sometimes it is easier to pull the lip feet first. Its impossible to tell from that pic. It is a shitty pic anyway so I doubt it is posed.

I think the caption on this said it was the successful FA ascent.

If you check out the youtubes of Separate Reality (there are a couple very good ones) everyone pulls the roof feet first.
Thanks for ruining my chances to onsight SR.

Asshat!!

Now I'll have to do it not feet first.

Also, Rebecca asked, and the guy said it was easier to pull feet first.

Like you'll ever make it to yosemite. You wouldn't be able to resist stopping at the 800 climbing areas between you and the valley. You'd need 3 years to get here.
You have a point.

What I would give to be stuck in Squish right now! *sigh* Unsure

My best friend from Aus is turning up with his wife in Van this weekend and will be shocked to find out he can't get up to Squamish. Once he does finally make it he should be able to tear that place up!
Did they post somewhere on this site. Or am I just confused with somethign else?

Oh no, they don't post on here... I also wonder if they knew before flying out on the 1st about the landslide.
Oh, so they're REAL climbers than...

Hahahahaaa! Yeah, he sure is... my friend started when I did and quickly became better than me within the first five years. He then went to better pastures, while I ended up blorting and eventually posting here with climbing in between.

He knows Simon Carter quite well and is good friends with John Fantini. I think he's going to be climbing with Mike Law Smith on his travel around NW America during the next three months. Although great Australian climbers like them aren't too well known over here.
I've heard of Simon Carter.

The funny thing is when she was over she was blaming the shooz for not climbing good. So I did the route she was working on barefoot.Cool

There are numerous Canadian borders. You think you could be a little more specific. But generally thinking, no they don't have turn arounds.

This is true, most of the time. I had one exception. Was at work, needed HR gov related info. There was a webform where you put your phone number for a gov rep to call you. I input my work number and as soon as I hit enter the phone rang and it was the government office. not shitting you. It was almost spooky.

If you are going to waste your time answering questions, perhaps you should make an effort to answer while it is still useful.

I was thinking of the ones you drive across.

At the Queenston/Lewiston bridge.

No, there is no turnaround. Once you get past the last exit (stanley I think) it is a point of no return.

Yes it is late.

Doesn't matter, cause you are wrong. There is a place. It is marked with wrong way signs and dumps you out in front of the toll booths. So you do have to pay the toll for not crossing the bridge.

so this morning was something a little different... unsettling and downright alarming.

I was in bed, sleeping as normal as could be, when sometime around sunrise, I ended up having two of some kind of seizure, within minutes of each other.

One of my roommates who witnessed the event called 911, a few minutes later some medical guys showed up and assessed my situation, then recommended I check into the hospital and get examined ASAP. The roomie drove me to the ER to get checked out, which after a CT scan and blood/urine samples, was inconclusive as to the cause, other than it's not caused by some sort of brain tumor.

The Dr. there referred me to a neurologist to get some further testing done, informing me that until I'm cleared by the Neurologist not only should I not drive, but that were I to do so I would be violating the law. This means no work for the next week, as driving is an integral part of getting stuff done.

Upon reflection, I can only be happy that the seizures hit me while I was sleeping, rather than some time driving down the road, or perhaps soloing on some of the local routes as I have a tendency to do

Oh yeah, and somewhere in there during the seizures I bit the fuck outta my tounge... it hurts like a BITCH!
ahhh this explains what you were saying bout sleep dep. Sounds pretty extreme for just lack of sleep. Hopefully they are right and that won't happen again. scary shit I bet

You just got to the squish.

Also, what is scary is clipping a bolt with the rubber holder side of the QD.Shocked

What is this rubber holder you speak of? Clarify, please.

At any rate, I love it in Squamish! If my friends don't come and/or the valley is closed, I'd stay until early sept. It will probably still be pretty hot....especially if everything is literally burning up.

OTOH, everything (everything) is insane expensive up here.

You sound surprised.

Weed's cheaper though.

I recently smoked for the first time in five years.

Did I say that out loud?
Shocked I'm telling your mother!
