so my idea is based on a pulley system.
i want to ride the pig down a rap but use that force from the decent to go to a fixed pulley at the top to essentially haul my second up to the anchors. he can the rap the line after the fact.
the point is to save time and also enable both party to complete a harder aid line on Halve Dome. ie: the regular route
i appreciate it. its an obscure question, search produce no answer.

i want to ride the pig bag down a rappel like you ride a nuclear bomb. in the process of doing so i want that force to haul my lazy partner so he summit.

you wash that mouth out young man. if a retarded person wanted to climb or nuke bomb they have every right as one who is compltely abled bodied. at least the challenged will climb for right honest reason inline with their spiritual selves.
aid climbing is a sport to reconcile with. A5 if u ever do it

Oh my. Well, enough people are going to comment on whether or not your idea is sane, so here's a comment on things to think about instead:
1) In the event of a pulley failure, you will want to be sure the rope is still attached to the wall. Place two screamers, with locking biners on the rope on either side of the pulley and clip them into the powerpoint.
2) Make sure the pulley can rotate in space, so there is no torque on it or its biner. Use a rescue rated pulley.
3) If you rocket to the base like a load of bricks and drag your partner up the wall so fast he slams into the pulley system, his rope could cut, you could hit an obstacle on the way down and break your legs, this would be very very bad. You would need to fairly carefully determine the appropriate weight for you and your pig to not dramatically outweigh your parther. And as friction in the system chages during the rap, as in your partner contacts rock, you contact rock, your pig contacts rock, and the rope contacts rock, this calculation would change.
4) If your partner is so lazy that he has to be hauled up the climb then he/she is too lazy to get to the base of half dome. Of course, you could just have the helicopter bring him, because you will be needing one for your rescue anyway, may as well make the best use of the money and fuel. Kind of kidding...
I'm pretty sure this is a troll but it was fun to think about. I hope you don't actually do it.

So let me get this straight. You're going to hike your haul bag up to the top, then walk back down to the base, lead climb on a 1800' rope, then rig the pulley at the top, then attach the haul bag, then jump on it and kick it off the top in the process, and ride it all the way back down to the base? As long as your second is OK with slamming into your pieces on his way up, I see no problem with this. In fact, this is the way that I'd like to follow on long routes. I'd probably tie a biner block a few feet in front of me, though.
Do you know if there's water in the springs? I'm heading up in a few days.
