I will be in Amarillo, TX from 9/23 - 9/25 for work. Anyone interested in heading out to Palo Duro Canyon? I would be available after 6:00PM each day. - Jeff

I would be up for anything. I was mostly just planning on checking the place out. From the pictures I have seen it looks pretty cool. I would appreciate any beta / recommendations. - Jeff

That is good to know. I was just going off of the route database on this site. Maybe the area section for Palo Duro should be updated with the access information. Thanks, Jeff

climbing is allowed, but frowned on. they have a pretty decent boulder feild in between water crossing 4 and 5 on the left side of the road. most of which range from v0 to v7. lots of easy high ballers, and lots of over hangs and traverses.

Hmm. Not sure what to make of allowed but frowned on. I'd like to head out there, but I don't want to get in the middle of a local access issue. Thanks, Jeff

your not going to get in trouble or even get into a bad situation, just make sure you check in at the top of the canyon.

I enjoyed it. I got there with enough time to explore a bit and try some of the boulders. Then I watched the sun set from the top of one of the larger ones. All in all a nice place to unwind after a long week of work / travel. Thanks again for the beta. - Jeff
