Looking for an area to learn trad climbing. Looking for easy to moderate routes from 5 - 5.7. Going to be visiting CO Springs in early to mid october. Any suggestions? Is Garden of the Gods a good area to start?

Personally I'd be more worried about who was going to teach you to trad climb, not where it was going to happen. Make sure they know what they are talking about.

If you're goiing to be in the Springs, head about 40 miles west on hwy 24 to 11 Mile Canyon. There are beginner trad leads there, even some 2-3 pitches in length. Bring someone that knows the area and nows what they're doing.
