my new pack arrived today! whooo!

I go the BD predator, which is large with lots of pockets. While not an alpinists dream, it's perfect for me, i lead a lot of trips and need to carry lots of crap, and i like to have one pocket just for med forms, one pockets just for this....it's awesome.

will rave more once i get a chance to use it, i'm sure!

Why such harsh words? Now I do agree that the post is worthless and should be moved to some other forum but no need to be so mean.

Get out and use that pack and then come and let us know how it is working. Some people have way too much time on their hands. No offense I am one as well I just don't waste my time on here posting things that no one cares about

^^^ iz troo.

don't likes it? don't read it. what did you expect, a fuckin' novel on a pack? this isn't the gear review forum, in case you can't read the giant black print. this is the everyone gush about the little frozen specks of water as they slowly appear, and sticking sharp pointy things in it at great personal risk....how's that for useful??

Carries fine and the hipbelt is definitely beefier than a typical climbing pack, which i love since i've got bony girly hips. I think I'm going to have to stitch down the shoulder straps a bit to get a better fit as they are non-adjustable in the top.

my choice was between that and the osprey variant, but the osprey 1) fit poorly 2) is ass ugly 3) my coleader has one, matching isn't cool and 4) the ginormous crampon pocket on the BD is slick.

a suggestion for thread....go to a fishing shop and see if they can give you some "power pro" or other spectra type line.

it's super thin and incredibly strong!

I used it on my worksack for the same reason.

Hey Mo, what size/colour did you get?

Its a really nice ice pack. Has lots of useful features without too much crap that you'll never use. Its not as hot as a rock pack, the lid flops around if there's not enough stuff in the pack (like the down jacket and extra socks you might be taking for ice climbing).

As for extra adjustment: Look at the shoulder straps where those starps to pull the pack tight into your body are (I have no idea what these straps are called, the ones near the lid). You can feed them through different points in the shoulder starps to make the pack carry different.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about PM me and I'll take some photos to show you.

the part where the shoulder strap top goes into the pack, by your shoulder blade, is a little long. maybe it's just because i slouch. but, there's webbing there and not padding so Im thinking of doubling it over and sewing it to itself or right back into the back of the pack.

thanks for the tip, brent!
