I really think that naming them after what they look like is really more awesome than naming them after an aggressive or dangerous animal.
I would buy a slug hold over a viper hold because I don't feel like I have to buy holds named after something dangerous. It won't make me yard or crimp any harder if I am on the 'Cougars' versus climbing on the 'Sea Cucumbers'. Once they are covered in chalk on a wall all that matters is how they feel.
I do really like your holds btw, regardless of the names they receive.

yeah, but Vipers / Pythons is lame, and overused. are they crappy cars, or shoes? I call my hold that looks like a boob, a "boob" or sometimes "the B-cup", that way when I say, "hand me the B-cup" my buddy knows what I'm talking about. I might get strange looks if I holler "hey hand me that python in your hand..."
we named the lips looking one "lips" and the ass looking one "the butt" or "the ass". when a hold looks like a slug, I think it should be named "the slug". just sayin'
