We had an avalanche fatality this weekend in the Tahoe region. Chris Trethaway's body was found below Maggie's peak, near emerald bay. He was an avid backcountry skier, who liked to ski steep lines.
Condolences to his family, and a reminder to us all that we have to pay close attention to the risks associated with alpinism/steep skiing.
