FOrget longboarding..this is like snowboarding on pavement. Awesome. You ride on the center caster wheels and slide on the outside regular longboard wheels, exacltly like a snowboard. 10 hours so far, carving and sliding like on snow...loving it. It's not as tricky as I thought...if you think snowboarding instead of skateboarding. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98-RhKZwJG4 Just sharing the stoke!

You're going to go through a lot of wheels.

Stock ones are supposed to last about a year...depending on how much you ride. BUT you can stop drifting like a snowboard. Wich is pretty cool Bellizziiii? Get your board out and that other device and let's go up Kirkwood.

Went through this same sorta thing with windsurfing. Basically just take a longbaord deck and add a sail and straps. Its all good till you fall. Then you realize that pavement is a little less forgiving than water.

Pads and helmet do help. The main difference with a FreeBord is that you can actually stop...reducing accidents dramatically ;) there are amazing videos about mountainboards and kites. Of course I prefer snow....but until this winter...

lol...it depends how fast you were going? you can control speed by bleeding part of it at every turn...drifting one set of wheels ( back or toe) and put the board at 90deg respect to the slope until it stops. http://www.freebord.com/...owthread.php?t=13790

heh I guess I was wondering in comparison to a snowboard, if you needed to stop NOW, would it be faster or slower.

As on a snowboard it depends on speed and type of snow...or ice...on the FB it depends on speed and steepness of the hill, and type of pavement for sure... watch the video...worth a million words :)
