It depends on how you fall, here is a link to a youtube video where a guy back flips onto only dirt from at least 35 feet from by the way you are measuring it. NO PAD! These guys are crazy!

Measuring it in more conventional means, it's at most between 20-24'. Still pretty ballsy though.

I once did a front flip from the crossbar of a soccer goal (10') and sprained my ankle. It might have gone better if I knew how to properly do a front flip and if I was sober. Ah, memories... more or less.

That is impressive (or crazy or both), but I wonder about the "at least 35 feet" measurement.

Using the old x=(1/2)at^2 equation, measuring t, and solving for x, I'm coming out at substantially below 35'. But I could be wrong, it's hard to say.

By the way, if you liked that clip, you may like this one also:

Sounds impressive to me. I would love to convince my wife to let me put a "Bouldering extension" on the house.

Got any pics or vids of it?

I took a few snap shots on the weekend. This is the entrance to my home with the climbing gym on the right :

The climbing gym:

Future climbers of America:

The wall has an adjustable inclination and the next project is to make a big roof on the other side of the gym. But here's why i'm a bit lazy about the climbing gym: that hill you see from my front yard has world class bouldering a 15
minute walk away:

Man that is hard core. Looks awesome to me. And that boulder looks pretty sweet as well. I would say those girls definitely have everything they need to become some pretty solid climbers. Do they climb often?

Cecilia (my daughter) has her moods ... sometimes she gets way into it and climbs a lot and other times she seems less interested. I just mainly hope she enjoys it. She still hasn't reached the point where she can play with the big boys, but when that happens, look out.
