I'm visiting the area over the Christmas holidays and didnt know if there would be any good bouldering during this time of the year? I'm from the Southeast where bouldering season has just got into full swing, but didnt know if its impossible to head out to Leavenworth or up to Sehomme Hill and do some bouldering. I dont mind climbing in the cold, but are the boulders wet or snowed over this time of the year. Any advice would be appreciated! Brad

Gonna be wet and slimy, bro. This time of year, Leavenworth can be really really cold (for bouldering, anyway) despite its modest elevation. There have been people knocking off ice climbs in the last couple of weeks only a few hundred feet elevation higher than Leavenworth. There are some spots out along Highway 2 headed towards Leveanworth near Gold Bar that might be good if there's been an extended dry spell. FWIW, there's some overhanging sport climbing at Exit 32 that might stay dry if that's your thing.
