I'm looking for a decent approach shoe that can edge and/or is a bit stiff. I want it to wear to work for lunchtime buildering forays :). Edging is probably the most important quality where I'm at there are a lot of very thin slick ledge lips can't get on without a stiff shoe. Tried my camp 4s they work fine but I don't want to wear them out. Any suggestions, I'd prefer something that hopefully isn't going to wear out super fast, doesn't look too freaky Been considering Patagonia Karakoram but I'm not sure if it can edge at all http://www.backcountry.com/...e-Mens/PTF0086M.html cheers

I used the Patagonia Finn's. I was excited and thought they would be great but...... They were not any stickier than any other basic hiking shoe. Also the rubber came unglued from the midsole this was after 3 months of just general use (I no longer used them for approached because they were not any better than my old stuff). Some of my casual shoes I have worn were better than the Finn's. Hopefully this was just an isolated incident though.

5.10 camp 4s are not bad. Good if you have wide feet too.

I have the 5.10 Guide Tennies - they are really comfy and get the job done up to moderate climbing.
