My mom travels like crazy so she got creative and gave me 80,000 delta miles!!! The possibilities are endless. I also got a Jetboil and some chalk.

no he is a cane corso, an Italian mastiff. They are a bit smaller, he is only 100 pounds and nearly full grown. They are a protection breed so none of my climbing gear will wind up on ebay with some sketchy story as to how it was acquired!

I don't know if you'll find it any easier, but I used to have a big pooch (110 lb rottweiler/timberwolf cross) and practically every place I tried to rent would go through the same routine : "sure we allow dogs...just, not over 100 lbs." I don't know where the 100 lb cutoff comes from but damn I heard that a lot. The best thing about a BIG guard dog is they so rarely need to do anything to be treated with respect that they are generally really sweet. It's those little dogs that need to prove that they aren't to be messed with.

Thankfully we are done with landlords!

My mother says she's not contributing to my suicidal hobbies So i got nothing I really wanted.... like Scarpa Divas, dynafit bindings, new skis, skins..... new climbing shoes, new harness.... some biners, slings.. nothing like that :( Just love... it's overrated! Perhaps, if I were naughtier, they'd want me dead and I'd get some gear. I can SO ride that wagon!

A set of DMM IMP's and a BD #1 micronut to fill out the small end, among other non-climbing related things. I hope I never fall on the BD #1, it's not very confidence inspiring.

I got a pretty good haul this year. I got myself a Sterling 10.2 Evolution Kosmos bicolor dry treated rope. From the GF I got a new prana pullover, and some books (how to ice climb, Freedom of the Hills, and Rock Climbing: Mastering basic skills. I got some new climbing pants from the rents, and money. I promptly blew the money on a new set of BD Quickwires, and an Osprey Mutant 38. Oh and I got some climbing DVDs. A full year gym membership doesn't hurt either!

I'm not so into the automatics but that is quite a knife, especially as a gift.

It was quite the gift. I carry a auto out of need more than want but it is nice to have them.

Need for an auto? how's that? As an aside, I had a knife confiscated at the Canadian border because it was "too much like a switchblade". It was a regular folder with a thumb stud and a very smooth hinge (and I may have gotten rather fast at opening it) but upon being asked to open it and doing so with a flick they took it away. I still miss that knife.

Well, it is a work knife.... so when you only have one hand to use it is handy to open FAST.

A cutthroat shaving kit, money for climbing gears (got some 360's) two huge packs of nesquick (already gone), a signed copy of David Sedaris' When you are engoulfed in flames ("To magnus, with the pleasure of meeting your enchanting girlfriend, David") and something something something darkside. And the hardest december freeze anyone can remember. Win!

I got a flourescent orange Under Armor long sleeve shirt. Seriously. And an outdoor thermometer that doesn't work. And some chocolate. My wife, on the other hand, got a Flip video camera and a new DSLR camera (both from me). So who wears the pants in this family. It ain't me. (Actually, I gave myself "permission" to start saving up for a new roadbike for next Christmas. $300 a month and I'll have a sweet new set of wheels this time next year.)

I guess the only climbing-related pressie I got this year was a set of big climbing holds from Santa... oh and two vids - Sharp End and Progression, which I haven't watched yet.
