Missing bolts in the Gorge  (North_America: United_States: Oregon: Portland_Metro_Area)

Hey just wondering if anyone familiar with a certain minor 5 sport route crag in the Gorge (on the WA side) knows about recent developments there.

Went today, and there is a new bolted route (with a red rap sling at the top) but a missing crucial bolt (at least the hanger is missing) from the route left of it, which is easily the best climb there.

I get the impression there is work being done there, so no complaints - just wondering whether the hanger would be replaced, etc.

Thanks!

You could just got buy a hanger and replace it.

Well, out of respect to whoever it is that has developed/is developing the place, I didn't want to publicize the spot exactly. It is NOT Ozone or Beacon. It is East of Beacon on the WA side.

As for replacing the hanger myself: I honestly don't want to step on toes or interrupt something in progress. I would gladly replace the hanger if the route's setter or some other party with more cred than me says its ok. If this is you, or somebody you know, pass it along, ok?

Walnuts, everything is likely as it should be. If the bolt is gone, it was probably decided it wasn't necessary. These are all recent and currently pretty active crags so it's not like the folks who put up the route don't know of its status. If it was chopped in a dispute it will either stay gone or reappear fairly directly. On the whole for crags in the Gorge it's probably better to just ask around locally or pm some folks on cc.com versus taking it public here (or even on cc.com). You might pm 'pcoursar' on cc.com as he'd likely have an answer for you or knows who would.
