Has anyone attempted to climb the various crags/boulders located on the sides of the I-15 in San Diego county? I was driving through there the other day and it looks like a granite goldmine.

Any particular area? That is ~50 miles of freeway you are talking about.

There are some really good Andesite boulders and crags up Old Castle road, Private land so be low profile.

Top rope and trad. Some 80 foot faces and cracks, seams. OTD boulders. Rock is excellent and well featured. About three miles off I-15. Access issuea ??Undeveloped private land. I walked in to the small boulder cluster. South facing so it can get hot.

How do you know that is private land? Are the cracks dirty?

Land is an abondoned avocado grove. Assume that it is private. Haven;t been there for five years. Only climbed at boulders. Some climbers I met at Santee stated they liked the climbing at Old Castle. Cracks are probably filled with dirt, hornets and snakes.

Good Bouldering in Rainbow. Huge boulderfield with lots of problems and potential for many more.
