Hey guys I am looking for the smallest carabiner you know of for about $10. I am going to use it as an accessory biner but I would like it climb rated for other uses. Thanks.

I have been trying to find the dimensions for those two. Do either of you know the length?

I've got some "Smiley (or is it Lucky)" brand biners rated at 800lbs that are on some leashes I rigged up for my ice tools. They really are keychain biners, just much nicer than most. They are smaller than a nano. I don't know where I got them and I doubt they're still for sale.

BD makes some aluminum accesory biners. They are not rated for climbing, but they roll off the same assembly line as their full size biners. Depending on your use these may fit the bill. I like them for ice leaches, and they are small and light for rigging hand lines for river crossings and brief exposed areas when roping up would be overkill.

I want something about 2" long. When I hook it up to my belt loop I dont want it to be exposed too much. Anyone know the dimensions of the Nano or the other one posted earlier?

The Mini FS is tiny. it's got to be under or right at two inches tall.

The one on the left is the Mini, the one on the right is their normal size Inferno biner.

Hard to tell the size due to the angle.

I imagine a length of paracord woven into a belt and linked with a carabiner to use for escaping a burning office building.

Haha nice. I just believe in being prepared. I carry tons of EDC products including paracord. Might as well have the real deal that can hold 5000lbs rather than one that holds 150lbs.

sbaclimber wrote: You wear "trousers"!? I didn't think they even made them any more... Sorry. I normally use it with my "jeans". And yes I know this clearly goes against manufacturers recommendations but I still think that this is a safe use for this device. But I do realise that if a catastrophic failure occurs and I end up with my "jeans" around my ankles then I'll end up in the 'accidents' forum being blamed for not following manufacturers recommendations.

The Metolius FS Mini is the smallest one I know of. I wrote a little article about light weight carabiners, comparing size, cost, etc. Turns out the Omega Dash, FS Mini, and Camp Orbit are really affordable for their respective weights: http://climbinghouse.com/...ion-the-fs-mini.html
