So I'm looking to piecing together a half sleeve tattoo in continuation of my back piece (see attached). The red and black tribal goes over my shoulder cap but not down my arm. I want to integrate various pieces of my life and things that are dear to me, with climbing being one of them. I was wondering if everyone would share either cool climbing tattoos they've seen or have. Any help is appreciated

13 characters, starting with life, ending with death. The first 5 (after life) are personality characteristics: confidence power strength loyalty pride The remaining 6 (before death) make up my life mantra: family friendship love truth wisdom destiny I put them on my spine because it my backbone and makes up who you are. The tribal is all 100% custom that I personally developed.

Recently speaking, no, but for anthropological accuracy, we can all be traced back to our tribal origins

A friend of mine has the arc'teryx logo as a tattoo. It actually came out kind of neat and relatively few people recognize that it is a logo.

Thanks lost, but I prefer not to have a company logo on my body unless it's my company (which will be part of the sleeve). You are right though, it is a cool symbol

I'd say keep with what you've been doing and design your own tat. Personally I wouldn't look for any other influence outside of what climbing means to me. If that is a company logo, piton, climber silhouette, route topo, or simply a graphic symbol all that matters is what it means to the person who gets the ink. For example this is a rough sketch of the tattoo that I have: To me it represents the North Shore with all its climbing, backpacking, and paddling. To others it's just a scruffy tree leaning to the side.

I would say continue with the tribal and Chinese characters... I have never seen that before, and think you might have something here... maybe... and I’m just spit ballin here... get like a barb wire going around your arm! That might look real cool!! You could really start a trend! Keep it up... gotta say I’m very impressed with your unique and extremely original tattoo.

Wow, didn't realize I opened the floodgates on the random retard comments thread for this one. And here I thought all this time that climbers were more open and tolerant of others and other cultures. Keep it up guys.

As long as you like them then who cares.

Maybe you could get a cuff that spells "narcissist" in barbed wire with little climbers hanging off the barbs fighting off rabid arc-teryx birds a-la Jurassic Park iii. At the very least it would add some originality to your, uh, personal museum. Seriously though, I did meet a guy with an arc-teryx tat - pretty lame.

I like the ink and outlook Chad. At least the rest of the flamers here are helping my topic stay recent so I at least have a hope of getting some relevant input.

Hopefully the artist didn't jack up the price just because it was arc'teryx. I do like their logo, too. It's pretty cool. He did have to pay a $10,000 licensing fee though...

Every time you see your shirtless reflection you just shudder and think about that drunken night in the gunks and mumble 'but they make such great gear'.
