Howdy,
I've lived in Twin Falls for about two years now, and am need of a new rope. There isn't crap here, but I do remember hearing about a couple shops in Boise a while back. Unfortunately, I do not remember their names. Google and Yellowbook weren't real helpful, so I thought I'd ask here.

Elevation Sports on Blue Lakes and River Rat on 2nd ave E both carry ropes in your home town. Or do these 2 shops not count?

The three times I've been to River Rat, they didn't have what I was looking for: a trad harness, approach shoes, and good climbing shoes in my size (45-46ish). The employees were always very friendly, and I did get the printoffs for Castles there, but I'm done going there for gear. Elevation Sports has such a small selection, that I'm skeptical of them having a 70m bi-pattern rope in stock. So, I guess to answer your question, no, they do not count.

can't really argue there, its just nice to support the local shops.
you seem a little picky... and i get the idea you can afford to be. i was never very impressed with rei's gear selection, and im guessing benchmark isn't any better- based solely on their website. the nearest GREAT gear shop that i know of is Mountainworks. its located in The Quarry rock gym in provo, UT. its nearly twice the drive, but more than three times the selection. the workers there are ridiculously knowledgeable and experienced.
the selection combined with the staffs love for the gear and the sport make it well worth the drive.
i know that this isn't in boise, and its not what you asked for, but you live in twin, as do i, and i thought you might like the info. good luck

camp saver in logan ut has a good selection and knowledgeable staff too its a lot closer than provo. also i remember a store called the crux in boise. not sure if its still there
