The BD blizzard is a pretty good harness, has good ice clipper ability, plenty comfy, not the lightest harness in the world, but not too heavy by any means.

The Elite is awesome. What else is awesome? There are a ton of retailer web sites, as well as the manufacturer's web site, that you can go to and find the answers to your questions.

ive had the adjama for quite some time! i love it! two plastic loops, and two webbing loops in the rear, spots for the caritools. its my favorite harness so far

The new version has both front and back made of similar material as the old back ones. no more front plastic loops. which really sucks since the harness itself is really nice. It is basically a sport harness. i have a really slim trad rack and it is tough to rack on my harness.

I use a Petzl Adjama in size small and love it. The loops are not huge, but I don't have any trouble racking on the harness. For what it's worth, I carry less gear than some people. It does not have a full-strength haul loop, but in situations where I have needed one I simply girth-hitched a 12cm runner around the swami in the back and clipped whatever I was hauling into that. Worked fine.

haha im out of the loop when it comes to gear anymore, i didnt know a new one was out yet. i dont have any problem racking on mine. im able to fit small nuts,hexes,(yes, hexes) and tri-cams and my small size cams on the right side and all my larger sizes of the same on the left. all my trad draws on the back loops.it seems to work well for me. ill be ready for new harness sometime in the next year or five though, then ill be on the prowl!

I carry 1 biner of nuts, one of tri cams, 9 cams then 12ish draws. Perhaps it's my sporty habits that don't like putting stuff i need on the rear loops

I use the BD Big Gun for trad but I'm 6'3" 200lbs. It's the first harness I have ever had that I felt actually fit me.

There are seven gear loops, and four ice clipper slots.
I've yet to lose anything on the harness; haven't even dropped anything.

I'm still looking for my ushba nut tool in the sea of gear that I feel obliged to carry in order to fully utilize such an awesome harness.
The only downside to this harness is that it'll make your rack look smaller. Yes, smaller.

I'm suprised not to see any Misty Mountain Cadillac recommendations. Six generous gear loops. No ice clipper slots, though, which is why I have another harness for ice. Btw, for those who like the newfangled buckles, the Caddy now comes in a quick-adjust version, too: http://www.mistymountain.com/cadillacQA.htm

That's because he wants to spend less than $100 for a bitchin Trad harness...
Otherwise other harnesses like the MM Cadillac, Yates Bigwall and Yates Shield would have been suggested.

I will second the suggestion for the Misty Mountain Cadillac. IMHO it is really the best harness for what are describing. The model with the traditional buckles goes for $99.95.
Without trying to be an ass, I would also suggest that you do a search. There are a number of threads about just this subject with a ton of great info, both on this site and Mountain Project. The Cadillac is often mentioned favorably.
As an NC resident and a huge fan of Misty, I will admit to a certain bias. I also own the Cadillac and have been very happy with it.

Do any shops in Canada stock these harnesses or is it by mail order only? After a quick search it looks like its mail only?
