Hello,

I will be going to Madrid Spain in February and was wondering which are the closest crags to the city? Also I was hoping to get some opinions on the best places to climb in Spain and the surrounding countries. I can climb 10d's, but will progress quickly as I go to climbing everyday. Thanks for your thoughts.

La Pedriza is about a 50 minute bus ride from the city, and will keep you busy for as long as you like. Spain is full of climbing, and the climbing is quite varied, so it's tough to pick a 'best' climbing area. However, if you're a fan of Squamish slab, you'll love Pedriza.
Enjoy.
