But I want to climb............I live in Grand Junction. 1 1/2 hours from Moab, UT, close to Unaweep Canyon and also the Colorado Nat'l Monument ........just been climbing for a couple of years.... a definte newbie........passionate and willing to learn....good belayer. Patient, don't take anything personal and just want to learn and have fun.

I don't know if oyur area is too rural, but it might be worthwhile to look at meetup.com and search for rock climbing. My Detroit rock climbing club has member from a couple hours away. They don't necessarily come to all of our local gym climbs, but they are going on trips with us and meeting other climbers closer to them.

I'm hoping you know about http://www.gjclimbing.com (I've never been there, but rschap is a long time member of RC, and bought the gym recently).
