Yo! I'm going to be climbing in Yos from Sept 30 - somewhere around Oct 13. Any chance anyone can give me a ride to San Fran on Oct 12 or 13? I will naturally pay my share in gas money and can provide references and so on.

In a pinch you can take YARTS to Merced and pick up Greyhound to San Fran.

You really shouldn't have that much problem getting a ride from Yosemite to SFO. Anyone can give you a ride even to Oakland can drop you off at any BART stations which will take you to the airport. Worst case, you can take bus from Merced to Oakland Grayhound, it is close to the 19th ST BART Station. Walk 10 mins, or cab. Amtrak is not that great since it doesn't cross the bay bridge, but you can take Amtrak to Emeryville Station, which has a free shuttle that goes to BART's Mac Arthur Station. Look up Emerygoround. Or, Amtrak does provide a bus to Caltains station in SF which you will take to Milbrae, and transfer to BART, which will take much longer. But I can't imagin you can't find a ride out of Yosemite.

Oakland International Airport is your best bet. I think the BART to Oak has a bus service or shuttle. Last time I was in N. Cali they just open a BART station at SFO. Now there is always Fresno & Sacramento airports to consider flying out of.
