I keep getting nosebleeds over NOTHING here. I guess it's just the dry air.

I suspect now that it was not the dry air but bad food instead. Got the runs, and while I do actually feel better, I still feel pretty damn sick.

On the plus side, moving in to my new apt today.

Chicken is usually he first thing to give you the runs in a new country. Did it for me in Egypt Germany and the US. Your body will adapt.

Could very well have been the chicken I had two days before I noticed I was sick (I kind of felt it the day before, but tossed it off as something else). That's the thing about food poisoning and the like (not that this is food poisoning), people usually associate it with the last thing they ate, but it really started two days before one gets sick. So, I was kind of blaming on the burger I had at the hostel the day I got sick. Burgers in Chile suck (I mean, they're fucking terrible), and the chicken dinner I had the day before that was incredible. But yeah, it was probably the chicken.

Still, I weighed myself for the first time since arriving. When I was in Maine just after thanksgiving I weighed about 172. Today, I weighed 73.5 kilos, or 162lbs. Ten pounds in two weeks with only walking as exercise (albiet A LOT of walking) is kind of too much.

Nah, that's not too bad. You've changed your diet to something with different bacteria etc, so your system will have to work itself out. I found I was eating more than normal in Egypt and lost about 15 pounds in the first month but gained about 5 back and kept that weight throughout the remaining five months I was there. I was diving everyday too but eating a LOT. Only got sick during the first month.

Nice. Got a fridge?

Rad as hell movies! Obviously inception was the raddest of the rad, but the other two were rad too.

Saw Inception and Zombieland, which was funny as hell (I want to have Bill Murray's baby!), but I haven't watched Scott Pilgrim. I was sceptical when I saw a preview but it got good reviews so I'm sure I'll watch it at some sooner rather than later.

So I was driving back from Northern VA today and decided to stop at Chipotle in Fredericksburg. Turns out that was a terrible idea because it's a fucking week before christmas and the mobs are out in force.

I ended up standing in line for 7-8 min. and got a bit of people watching in.

1. I counted 12 North Face jackets or pullovers. I counted 0 Mountain Hardware, Arc'teryx, Marmot or even Patagonia jackets.

2. At least 90% of the ladies under 40 were wearing so much foundation that I could tell from all the way across the room that they had crap caked on to their face. Disgusting looking.

3. At least 60% of the guys under 40 had product in their hair. Fuckin poofters!
I wear product sometimes, but it's generally a pretty goofy. It's to make my hair not look like a bowlcut.

Poofter!

On a bad note: lost my freaking ATM card in one of those STUPID (read: really fucking stupid) ATMs that as if you want another transaction instead of just giving you your card back. Fucking A. I did it last year, too, in Bariloche, Argentina. MadMadMad

On a good note: Each time Iīve done this, the person who presumably found my card still in the machine didn`t wipe me out. Now awaiting a new card.

On a bad note: BOA has an agreement with Scotiabank in Canada, which is one of the major banks in Chile, and I donīt have to pay any fees to withdraw cash (neither foreign transaction or other bank ATM fees). Obviously, thats the card I lost and the one I used cost me CH$2500, which is over US$5 for just the other bank fee. Who knows what the foriegn transaction will be. Had to take money out to pay first monthīs rent.

So you forgot to take the card back? Smoooooooooth...

I got jacked by ATM fees while I was in the Dominican. I should have thought about it but didn't and got hit with like $10 worth of fees for two different withdraws.Mad

The wife doesn't appreciate it the perspective.
But I guess she would if I had to to work nights over both Christmas and New Years.

I thought it was a good movie. I do not, however, think it lived up to either it's potential or the hype. You know how the praise for some movies needs to be qualified with - "for what it was"?

For example -- Avitar was a really great movie,"for what it was"

Well I feel like that qualification needs to be applied in the negative to a movie like Inception that could have been and was supposed to be so much more than it was.

For example --Inception was a pretty bad movie,"for what it was"

My biggest issue is I felt like he took a really great concept that halfway raised all kinds of interesting metaphysical questions and turned it in to a mediocre action movie. The fight in the rotating hotel room was elegant and original and exciting but most everything else was poorly choreographed, over the top, Jason Stathamesque BS.

But of course, I'm over thinking it, as usual.
