Here is a video of our first impressions of the totem cams. Quick review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hemulb6_Rs A little more detail: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDmsM8TmM8A Yes we do work at a climbing gym.but we are also experienced rock climbers. Once we've put these cams through hell at the Gunks we will post another video with our final impressions.

okay firstly i'd say that's a LOT smaller head width than a C4. The guy doesn't inspire confidence that he knows what he's doing :/ I'd be interested to hear how they hold up to some gunks horizontals though.

That video looks pretty familiar... I've been climbing on them for months and wrote a review up with a similar video here: http://pullharder.org/...05/totem-cam-review/ I really like them, to say the least, and haven't had any durability problems at all yet. I haven't used them in many horizontals, but they've handled falls with ease. Josh

Yes! + 1^1000 I would really like to see some new cams in sizes that that are between what I have.

http://www.totemcams.com/blog/?p=670 Cool video. Some 2 lobe placements held 5 kn falls. That's actually a pretty average lead fall with a good belay, I think.

Bats wrote: RECALL http://www.totemcams.com/blog/?p=738&preview=true If you read the recall, it just doesn't apply to a lot of people. My friends and I have been whipping on these and they hold fine. Granted, I'm in the US where we don't gear climb on limestone much, but even if you do, grab some sandpaper, and take that annodization off to solve the problem, like they suggest. Josh

I just wanted people to know about the recall. I personally think they would be cool. The developed limestone areas are mostly sport, but there are also undeveloped areas which would required trad gear here in Texas. Just trying to be neighborly.
