Hi Everyone, I have been working on a web site and wanted to share it with rc.com. It is a social networking tool for rock climbing. You can build your network of climbing partners and post your climbing plans. It has some nice privacy settings that allow you to control who can see your plans. It has some advantages over email lists, facebook, and other methods of coordinating climbing plans. The web site address is http://www.cragnotes.com/. If you are on facebook you can also use it as a facebook app: http://apps.facebook.com/cragnotes/. Enjoy! Jeff

Does it have some sort of feature where we can display our recent (and past) moments of glory and have a link so other people can see our proud sends and feel embarrassed for themselves?

Good luck with your site. One thing I noticed was that if you post climbing plans, it only seems to allow for one day. For people traveling and looking for partners for on several days, it seems stupid to make them post each day separately. Also - it seems you can only "connect" with people in your network. I think people have better ways to contact people they already know.... is there no way to troll for potential partners you don't know already?

I really appreciate the feedback. Multi-day plans are a great idea. As far as finding new partners - I think that is part of the potential of the site. Once the network is large enough you will have a good chance of finding people you don't know through your current climbing friends (friends of friends). One main difference between cragnotes and other partner finder sites is that cragntoes is based on existing relationships. As you know, finding new partners on the internet - without a direct reference from a climber you already know - is shaky at best. It would be great to climb with someone that was directly recommended to you by someone you trust.

It would take a lot of the work out for the old timers.

you should also find a way to make it easier to find people by name. right now it's either FB, e-mail, or scrolling through all the users. Honestly, I don't know all my friend's e-mail addresses and I'm not linking up to FB any time soon.

I think allowing you to search for users on the site would be a great addition - probably necessary as the site continues to grow.

It gets the official Sungam seal of approval.
