Hey everyone, my buddies and I are trying to plan a climbing trip in Europe during our summer break from school. Our capabilities are from about 5.7 to 5.10 (sport). As students, cost is obviously important, so camping or a hostel close by is preferable. A place on the coast would be supreme. We are not set on Spain, I just know some spanish, but we are open to any other locations as well. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You could go to the Costa Blanca at the East coast of Spain. There is plenty of nice climbing at your level close to Alicante.
Rockfax http://www.rockfax.com/ publishes a guidebook to the area as well as other areas in Europe.
I have camped at Orange House, a hostel/campsite for climbers: http://www.theorangehouse.net/
If you browse their website,you will find videos and pictures of the climbing in the area.
Be aware that Spain is very hot in the summer.

I'll second the suggestion for Costa Blanca. Lots of lower grade sport on well bolted routes with a nice up-to-date guidebook from Rockfax. Lots of cheap accomodation options as mentioned in the previous reply from camping, hostles and if there is a group of you even renting a villa or appartment for a week wouldn't be all that much. You would want a rental car between you. Will be hot in summer, but you could find stuff in the shade.

I really have no idea whatsoever since I have never been to europe, but I do want to say that greece looks freaking amazing.
Personally if I were to go to europe for climbing, Spain would be my number one choice, Greece would be my second choice.

Kalymnos is a great destination, but getting there from the US isn't easy nor cheap. There are a few different ways to get there; the easiest was flying direct to Athens and then a quick flight to Kalymnos. However, that option forced a night in Athens in both directions, which added quite a bit to the cost.
While it's not too expensive there, it's not all that cheap either, I think we were spending about 70e/day for the two of us, which includes the apartment, scooter rental, food (awesome food!) but not alcohol.
Still, a great place if you can afford to fly there.

Find a copy of the "Jingo Wobbly" guide to climbing in Europe. It gives an overview of many of the climbing areas, including; style, type of rock, access, guidebooks, grade range, etc etc. It does not give specific route
Have a good trip, and enjoy the different rock, because Euro-limestone is very different to most US limestone. There is also grit, granite, sandstone, an assortment of metamorphic rocks etc.

These guys are local but speak english and organise climbing packages in Barcelona region and the Pyrenees world class for sport climbers.

Awesome website!
I loved climbing in Ordesa. Great rock and fantastic exposure. Even the descent was memorable.
