Hey all! My husband and a friend and I are driving from Virginia, leaving May 19 and going back home June 8. We were going to spend the last week of the trip (first week of June) at Lake Tahoe, but heard today that Lake Tahoe has received recod amounts of snowfall this year, so we were worried it may not be climbable in June. Anybody who lives out there....do you think the conditions will decent?? Thanks! I'd hate to drive all of the way there only to be shut down! ~Patty Kornwolf Williamsburg, VA

Hi Patty, Yes, tons of snow this year. A friend told me there is still a substantial amount of snow at the Leap. However, it should be climbable when you arrive. It may be cold, and there will likely be snow on base, summits and descents. There are options that are already melted out around though. The phantom spires and Sugarloaf are both within 10 miles of the Leap and are melted out and being climbed already.
