Hi there..
Rather than have my first post on the site be a long winded series of questions and comments and discussion of my goals from somebody who really doesn't know what he's talking about!!??..

Hello ..
It's more of a question of where do i want to climb, and how much do I actually know?
I can climb like a hillbilly (no gear) all day long.. And I seem to do that a lot..
But I'd really like to be able to shoot up and down the side of the building where I live.. (brick / 3 floors / flat roof..)
There's also a really big tree out back..
3 stories.. flat roof..
I have no gear per say... long term goal.. On the rare trips I drive cross country.. I wouldn't mind climbing a little at some of the places I would drive back into..
novice at best.. ..but I do know a thing or two..
no rush / risk

Pretty much my story as well - climbed trees and buildings all the time as a kid in Boston and out in West Dundee. Had the same arrangement at our house - three stories up a tree and out a branch to the roof. Learned to formally 'climb' in Southern Illinois when I got home from Vietnam.
Went home after I'd been a 'climber' for a couple of years and tried the tree-to-roof transition again and had to back off the move to the roof - way too frigging scary. So much for being a 'real' climber'.
