While flipping through the channels tonight I happened across the "Ma Ke Kahakai" episode of Hawaii Five-0. Just watch the commercial and then the clip that follows in the link below.

Some really interesting climbing techniques in this episode. The main characters have ATCs, Chalk bags, harnesses, and climbing shoes but they still choose to use the rope in hand belay technique.
One falls and lands right next to a dead guy. Brilliant script I must say. This show really takes the cake for dumbest show on TV.

I sure hope that what happens in that show never happens in real life. He would have been better off free soloing. At least he wouldn't run the risk of dragging the other guy off the cliff as well.

i saw someone lower themselves hand over hand in the bluffs last week
they even had a picnic at the base with his kids ...
it happens in the real world
