I am pretty sure I am not the only person who hates dogs being at the crag. THEY HAVE NO PLACE THERE! I do not need to step in your dogs crap while im belaying or have it running around trying to eat food out of my pack while I am belaying. Sometimes they will come want to run all around my flaked rope while I am belaying or just bark and piss me off. Not everybody likes dogs and wants them around. They have no place where climbing takes place. I am sure this is going to get a bunch of smart ass remarks. Bottom line is that your damn dog should be left at home! Focus more on climbing and less on playing with the mutt.

Oh sweet, a dog thread. I love dogs at the crag. I have one and I will be at 'your' crag very soon, with my dog! Horay! He loves to sniff through packs and piss on ropes. One time, he actually shit in a pack- after he ate the food that was in it!! Ha! Now that was funny! Haha. Well, maybe you had to be there... Anyway, good luck with your 'i h8 dogs thread'!

That is funny! What is even funnier is what I would have done to your dog after that.

This thread is more annoying than dogs at the crag. And I'm not a dog person.

This topic gets brought up almost as often as a n00b starts a thread asking "Which shoes should I get?" Teddy in JTree Teddy's Old Preserve Membership Pass Teddy Sez "Another dawgs at the crag thread - har har har" Teddy dreaming about the bit of burger he's gonna get after climbing day is done Teddy saying "No dogs at Crag!? You talking to ME?"

Yeah, get rid of the dogs I hate them, and all of the douchbags that sport climb I hate them a lot, and erradicate the poison ivy too I hate that even more, and ban punters, newbies, gumbies, old crusties, beta-spewers, gym rats, alpinists, hikers, rapellers, and canyoneers. They should all stay at home where they belong and not bother me at MY crag.

Let's make a deal. You stay away from our crags and we'll stay away from yours. Sounds fair to me.

I like dogs and have no problem with them being out at the crags. I do have a problem with retard owners who leave aggressive dogs off-leash and don't pick up after their pets. I just hate steppin in shit and being bitten.

Not only do I not mind the occasional dog coming up to say hi, I think it adds to the cragging experience. I sometimes bring my dog climbing. It's a prerequisite of any climbing partner of mine that they not mind her being around every once in a while. That said, I agree that it can get out of hand pretty quickly, and that a lot of folks with badly behaving dogs seem pretty oblivious. I leave my pooch at home when it's ridiculously hot outside, when I'm going to a crowded crag and when I expect a lot of other dogs to be there. I also keep her poop away from where people are walking and hanging out.

I hate it when people have a green rope and a red Irish Setter. Clashers stay home.

my dog is pretty well behaved at the crag with one exception... he hates n00bs. he's down with those in the know, but n00bs beware. He'll root in your pack, smoke your weed, eat your lunch and then take a dump on top of it. Don't say you haven't been warned.

I love dogs but hate them at climbing areas. It is part of the reason that Roadside Crag in the Red River Gorge is closed until further notice among other inconsiderate behavior.

For the record, I hate people with poorly behaved dogs and shitty dog owners at the crag. My dog is well behaved, follows me wherever, and gets tied up if there are people around. He stands guard by my gear and chases rocks like they're tennis balls. This is my crag dog. His name is Tucker. He's a 2 year old mutt and he's been climbing with me since he was 2 months old. He has lymphoma and his time is near, but he's been one of the best climbing buddies I've ever had the pleasure to accompany me at the crag.
