Has anyone rappelled from hawks bill Crag and then trad climbed back up? I did not see it under any of the routes so I figured I would ask.

The rappel down was ~130 feet and the majority of it was a free rappel. There is a lot of opportunity to develop the bluff line but the base has a lot of loose crumbly rock. Lots of overhang making the majority of the bluff line a 5.10 or higher. We found an easy 5.6/5.7 down the bluff to trad back up. it was a really awesome climb but one of the belay stations halfway up was covered in thorns.

Look at pictures of it over the last 10-15 years. It keeps shrinking in large chunks. I'd be watchful of large, loose blocks around the point. I haven't been out there in a few years. Hope you can find some good stuff!

We noticed the large chunks that had fallen, but there is no way we would be able to climb that section of the bluff. Most of that is 5.11+. But the actual side of the point looked like 5.5. We plan to make another trip out there and find more routes.
