Looking for the latest info on camping and climbing at Jackson Falls this fall. Have not been down there in 3-4 years. Any issues/restrictions or large crowds?

no there are no restrictions besides you can only be at one campsite for 14 days i believe before you have to find another one, but i don't think its a big deal, i haven't seen any huge crowds all summer. if your interested in someone to climb with id be happy to tag along, i live 30 mins away, so just pm me whenever.

Hey I'm going to be heading down next week from the Twin Cities. Where and what should I climb?

Where should you climb at Jackson falls or what else is in the area? The promiseland in Jackson falls is a pretty good area, there's just a lot of good climbing period, I would suggest getting a guide book, I know there available at Shawnee trails wilderness outfitters in Carbondale. Around the area there's giant city state park and there's some climbing at cedar lake as well.

Yeah the guide book is on the agenda for the way down. I meant what routes in Jackson Falls should I climb. Im also planning on going to Kinkaid Lake to do some deep water soloing. Any experience there?

Oh and is Vertical Heartland the guide book to get or is there another one?

I don't really know sTuff By name really, I've just moved down here so I'm still a newb to Jackson falls, there's just so much, I haven't even scratched the surface myself. And yes vertical heartland is the book, it's good, but there are some relatively new routes that arent in it. And no I haven't heard anything about Kincaid lake, that sounds awesome, I'm jealous I've always wanted to deep water solo!

Recently went to lake Kinkaid this weekend and went deep water soloing, it was a blast! make sure if you go you take some tubes or rafts to chill on during your breaks.
