Now I'm reading Mrs. Dalloway and I'm finding it pretty frustrating. It's like she just throwing a massive fist full of comma, colons, semicolons and dash marks at each page. It would be comical if it wasn't so disruptive to my actually reading the text. I think I'm just going to get it on audiobook so I can enjoy it. I hate it when there are too many colons and semi colons... it usually indicates a very anal writing style. To me it shows lack of discipline, but she was writing in a different time. The lack of a period in a sentance might indicate a pregnant pause? ba dum ch!

It seems that I have made a friend... ionicphil keeps sending me PMs asking me how to rock climb in the local area. He needs a detailed list of "amateur sport routes" with bolt counts and gear lists, as well as the prices and dates for courses run by local guiding companies. He also requested the names of retailers in his area and what kinds of climbing equipment they sell... This has been going for about a week and I have yet to really answer a question beyond the typical "it depends".... when can I start being a bitch again?

Well, with regards to your statement about her overuse of punctuation, what if she and Faulkner were in the same room, or even Joyce? Would that make a perfectly readable novel?

I'm pretty helpful when folks ask questions, but there's only so much I'm willing to do before they have to take my info and run with it.
