I hate to burst your bubble folks, but there is sport climbing in the Gunks. However, most of the routes are on private property, and the others are currently off limits to climbing. There ARE bolted lines in the Gunks though. I can think of at least 6 or 7 off the top of my head.
Oh wait...8. I forgot about that one at Lost City

6 or 7! Sport climbing destination it ain't, even if you do have friends who own the land with the bolted routes!
Gunks version of Sport Climbing: Leading up Bunny to set TR on Retribiution/No Solution and/or Nosedive, or asking someone who can lead the routes to trail your rope and set a TR....

I go to school near the Gunks and I've gone climbing at Peterskill. I'm just a beginner but awesome climbs nonetheless.

Agreed Terrie, a sport climbing destination the Gunks is not. I was just making people aware that there ARE bolt protected routes in the Gunks, it just isn't plentiful or easily accessible.

Really - can you point me to the original burr that seems to have gotten under your saddle, that causes you such grief upon seeing a post by myself that you just cannot stop yourself from chafing?
