First, it came the use of ice-axes to climb on rock (dry-tooling).
Now, just the opposite: climbing ice (grade VI) with no tools!

Now let's see it sans crampons....I've have some fun doing some similar stuff, but only when the ice is chandeliered.

Around here, that route would be considered Grade 4+. Stemming and steppy, cauliflower ice...meh.

yawn. the fun part about ice climbing is bashing the piss out of the ice with sharp metal objects.
