At the beginning of March. I will be moving to Ridgecrest, CA. I know that an abundance of routes exist for the weekend warrior but was wondering about after work opportunities to climb. Things to climb within 30 mins.

Try to find a copy of the Domelands guidebook. There are several areas close to Ridgecrest included. One is Great Falls by Trona with shade and water too! Indian Wells Canyon to the west and Fossil Falls to the north also. You can solo all the Trona Pinnacles for novelty. And fool around at the Wagonwheel boulders. (Chessler Books has a few copies left of the out of print Domelands guide).

First off I just want to give you my condolences, but I have noticed that there is rock on the road between Ridgecrest and Trona, also there looks to be some good rock up close to the mountains off the 178. I don't know if there are any established routes, but if I ever had to move there (a definite possibility with my work) I would certainly be developing those areas.
