We are VERY excited about it, too! And like a fine wine, this work of art has gotten better with age. Darrens tops are second to none, his route descriptions are comprehensive and accurate, and he has included a TON of information obtained from the locals and first ascent person/route developer. There anecdotes and insights about the routes, where the names came from and all kids of insights that only the locals and route developers would know. Best of all, Darren has climbed all but 25 of the 600+ routes in this guidebook, so he speaks first-hand. 12 years in the making and worth every minute! Jason

Jason Jason, You should post up about this over on Mountain Project, right now there is a thread over there about the new Wolverine guide to Maple. I'm sure that Darren's is much better, so you should let people over there know that they can now pre-order it. Mountain Project Thread

Things are getting pretty excited over there! Bottom line, after 12 years waiting there are TWO books available! Choose wisely, weight the merits of each book and decide which one worlds for you.

I went with the obvious choice and bought the Knezek guide. But I have a question... does that dude ever get up before noon? Several crags say "no sun" but are blazing until 11-12.

Upon further investigation, quite a few crags that say "no sun" are blazing for a good portion of the day. Perhaps the "no sun" symbol was the default and some area's didn't get properly noted. Someone should update that... Great book otherwise! Good sections written by the local developers/hardmen. Not too much fluff either.
