russ and i have been talking since the last gig went over so well and not everyone that wanted to got to come over what about another one this spring? we were thinking march might still be a little cold so maybe around april? and not sure if everyone wanted to go to the coulee again or because we are also fairly close to leavenworth and the peshatin pinnacles maybe try there? besides russ got some new gear and is itching to try it out! Count me in this time... I don't think either of those two areas are as "group friendly" as the coulees... winter holds it's grip on the Icicle Canyon much longer than it does Frenchmans Hills... And Peshastin sucks in my opinion, we have the worst sandstone on the planet. I thought long and hard about where to have the last gathering, and didn't decide on the coulees for your convenience, but because there are good moderates and good hard stuff, both trad and sport, free camping (I originally didn't intend to have everyone at your house) and all the climbing is within a fairly small area so that members of the group could wander from crag to crag, and we could just tag team climbs for most of the weekend. This would be very difficult at te other two places mentioned. So it looks like you and Russ lucked out again, that is unless not having everyone at your house was part of your reasoning for having it someplace else??? I know Russ is itchin' to use that new gear, maybe my bro and I can head over that way and Cory and Todd (Redrider) can go shootin', and me and Russ can go place some gear... It doesn't matter what the weather is to me, I'll bring my trad rack... We'll call it a "mentoring exchange program"... I can teach Russ a few tricks, and Cory can teach Todd... It seems a fair exchange to me! Light a fire under those boys and get'em to make up a schedule... we'll come a runnin'! Jeff P.S. My brother read my post and seems to think I didn't express enough of a sense of urgency... he is already packed to go, and thinks we should get it arranged for yesterday!!! He's itchin to go worse than Russman is! He wants it to happen this weekend! LOL I think he's loading the truck now!?! Our schedules are both wide open right now (we're both temporarily unemployed) so we could be there tomorrow! How's that Red? [ This Message was edited by: krustyklimber on 2002-12-31 12:07 ]

okay so sounds like the coulee, russ and i will have to check out leavenworth later, oh darn! and not a problem with pitching tents in the yard again plus if there isn't enough room in our yard or garage there is always camping down there at the coulee. everyone that was here last time were very cooperative and considerate which i appreciated considering we had a sick child at the same time, so i have no problem doing that again.

I'm in for sure!!! Leavenworth has some great climbing areas. We had such a wonderful time at the Central Wa Gig, that I am sure this would be just as good -- if not better. Joshua-tree in January and Leavenworth in March. What a way to start the New Year. Keep us informed Bobbi. See you all soon. Jules

okay so if april works for everyone looking at the calendar the only weekend that would probably not work for most is easter weekend which is the 18-20 so leaving that out what would work for everyone else? doesn't matter to us since russ does his scheduling he can work around it and i always get weekends off.

Otter has looked at the calender. The first weekend in April is open for us. The last weekend would most likely not work due to some big plans for the first of may. Coulees sound good. And if Russman and his lady care for a leavenworth trip later, when weather is better for it there. We would most likely be up for that, if you'ld be wanting some company. We'll be sure to stay out of the garage so as not to ruin the cigar fun for the other folks. So glad you guys thought to do this one again. Hopefully life will let us go this time!
